Low and behold, Apple’s new shrine to computing and design took over the entire North Wing of the Grand Central Terminal in what has to be their highest ceiling store. It’s very cool.

Restaurant and Nightlife Guides
- City Search Your basic cherry-vanilla restaurant guide.
- New York Magazine One of my favorite magazines and also a wealth of local information including restaurants, nightlife, culture and lifestyle.
- The New Yorker A little old school and stodgy but it covers cultural events pretty well.
- Time Out New York A pretty extensive list of what’s happening in the city as well as restaurant and nightlife guides.
- Zagats Guide The Grand Daddy of New York restaurant guides began as a little newsletter shared among friends and has morphed in to the definitive ranker of restaurants in New York City.

Transportation
- New York City MTA This is the main site for NYC Transit, Long Island Railroad and Bus, and the Metro North Services.
- Subway and Bus Maps The easiest way to get around town is on the subway. I am not much of a bus person but I know some that swear by it. Here are the maps from the mta’s website.

Groceries
- Citerella Another favorite of mine on the Upper Westside. Citerella has fabulous gourmet food and beware, their Russian Tea cookies are so addicting you can’t stop until you’ve eaten the whole box. It is better on your body if you eat them with another person.
- Fairway Market The Fairway at 74th and Broadway is my favorite store in NY. I love their other stores too, especially at 125th Street, but the one on the Upper Westside redefines shopping as a contact sport. One which you get better at with age. The food is the best and
- Zabars A NY institution with great food and also the set for the scene in “When Harry Met Sally” when she holds up the line because she can’t pay. It’s upstairs cookware and kitchen section is second to none.

- Tours By Gary Celebrity local historian and movie expert, Gary Dennis, gives tours of some of his favorite sites and neighborhoods in the city.
