Saucer Magnolia (Magnolia x soulangiana) is the name of the big pink and white flowering trees. They are blooming here in the hills of east TN too.

Hi Lotty, That’s funny that you mentioned trees. I just saw a book in Barnes and Noble this morning about the Trees of New York. I think these are cherry blossoms although I can’t be sure. I’ll see if I can find out any more information and get back to you. Thanks for commenting.
