Rupert Murdoch’s first Network Upfront Party at the Yacht Club was almost a rain out. It was storming so bad that the roof of the tent coverring hundreds of guests almost collapsed. Rupert grabbed the microphone, thanked everyone for coming, and then said “The Bar Is Now Open, Let’s Party”. Everyone did.

Ever since, FOX has given out umbrellas for good luck at thier upfront parties, at least they did as long as I was there, which was a long time. Now Rupert is a giant, the party is for thousands and has become a spectacle in itself. Who knows, maybe they’ll get lucky tonight at Trump’s Wollman Rink.
