The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine is undergoing a massive restoration to clean up the smoke damage caused by a devastating fire in December of 2001. I have never been to the Cathedral when it wasn’t under some type of construction so don’t let a little cleaning scare you away. The church is a piece of art built for God by the Episcopal Church, a.k.a. as the super rich of New York. It truly is one of a kind.
To get there take the #1 train to 110th Street. Walk two blocks north to 112th. Turn right at Tom’s Restaurant. You can’t miss it.
