One of the things that differentiates the Upper Westside from the Upper Eastside, besides the lack of billionaires and trust fund babies, is the multitude of street vendors on the main thoroughfares. No matter if you are shopping for clothes, books, jewelry, perfume or even fruit, you will find plenty of street vendors with bargain basement priced merchandise on Broadway, Columbus, or Amsterdam, as well as the main cross streets of 72, 79th, 86th, etc.
The bazaar like atmosphere certainly adds color and vibrancy to the neighborhood on a hot July day.
