There was a time, in fact lasting for a couple of centuries, if you weren’t to careful in this neighborhood, you would be robbed and thrown on a ship and indentured to roam the seas by some ruthless captain or ruddy pirate. Hell’s Kitchen had a reputation world wide as a very rough and dangerous place that could not be governed, that is until Rudy Giuliani tamed the area as Mayor and today it has grown to be one of the best places for food and night life on the Westside. It is still a little edgy, but in a good way.
