It is hard to believe that this is the same neighborhood that laid paralyzed after the horrific attack on 9/11/2001. Chambers Street, bounded by the West Side Highway on the west and City Hall Park on the east sat perilously close to the World Trade Center and was waylaid by the events of that Day.
Not today. The neighborhood has rebounded entirely and is a flurry of activity. It is easy to get to by subway and a is great place to wander around.
You will find many jewels as you explore its street, shops, restaurants, and galleries and also unearth quite a few heart warming memorials to the people who died on that day.
